I think I am up for the challenge?

I just really wanted to drop by to give some updates on what is happening in the world of writing. First off I need to start really by saying two things, one you never seem to stop learning, two everyones writing careers seems to be different. Self publishing against traditional publishing, designing your own book cover or paying someone to design it for you. Editing your own work or paying someone to make it look beautiful.

I am sitting here with a headache tonight, sometimes I get this ache at the back right hand side of my head, I want to say its a migraine but i don't think it is as the pain affects my scalp not my actual brain. Tonight strangely enough it was on the left hand side. Recently I was writing a manuscript for a comedy, but I have really struggled with it, I got the idea and got so excited that it was about two gay men, who buy a castle, only for an alarming rate of hiccups to occur. Frankly personally I found it boring, which if I do, then I'm pretty sure future readers will do also. Put it this way, it took me two weeks to hit around 16 thousand words. So instead I decided to shelve it for the time being, and instead start book one of my new series called Tiny house mysteries. So the entire series will be based around a character called Sally Green, who is a divorcee, married for fifteen years as a loyal housewife. She pours her grief into writing and becomes a best selling novelist in the romance genre, and decides on a life long dream she has, she wants to travel. So rather than using more traditional routes, sells everything she owns and buys a tine house on wheels and a car, to go and tour the British isles, possibly Europe ( I am not that far ahead yet.) Anyway so in a matter of three days I hit the same word count as the book I was struggling with, and ended up finishing the first draft in a week.

So as happy as I am that the first draft is done, now im on to the next part the editing and revisions, which I don't nearly enjoy as much. I have to be honest with you I hate the first draft, if it were published as it is now, I would probably be known as the worlds worst writer. But the only way that I can move forward with this is by challenging myself and hitting a deadline. So .... I need to have the revised draft done in two weeks, so end of April, then it will go to beta readers for some insight, then possibly more revisions and then to the copy editor. Then I have to write the next book in the series and do the same process, so I am challenging myself to have three books done and dusted by Christmas, so I would have a box set ready and waiting for readers enjoyment.

In other news the first book Secrets to a Happy Ending is still very much on course to be live in July so i can rest assured about that, I'm not sure if you have seen the cover yet, if you're following my other social media channels, or you tube then you most likely have but I will leave it down below for you to see. So with all that, I'm off to nurse this headache, for the first time i was overjoyed to find Solphadene here which is a remarkable pain killer to see if it will shift this annoying pain in the back of my head, until next time readers.
